  for me, outside the jw context, that word seems to relate to something like a prison setting, where you're allowed to do certain things based on good behavior.

  on a temporary public instagram story he said he misses wearing suits, and wonders if he can fit into one still.. however as most american jws know, suit jackets are almost universally required to give parts on meetings, even a simple bible reading (zoom meetings included).

  i always wondered how he could be on the school anyway, with such a busy schedule he had going from one casino, etc.

  even weekly door to door would be next to impossible.. .

  thanks petra and atlantis for providing the latest announcements from the watchtower.. they are telling congregations to replace the 15 minute local needs talk in the midweek meeting of october 26th with a talk on neutrality.

  i am not sure if this is due to there being a usa election on tues 3rd, november or because of their worldwide preaching campaign targeting government officials.

  it does sound like it is due to the usa election due to comments about propaganda and political promises.

  does anybody know what this message will contain ?

  is it designed to provoke a response that will bring persecution on the religion ?

  or is it just going to be some meaningless weak campaign to get the rank and file all excited about it and achieving nothing.. or is it going to suggest to the government officials that this mob could very well be the next jonestown /wacol incident and we need to act now.

  You're right. Right there in the website you can see the logo clumsily covered with an asymmetrical piece of tape that you can see through 😏

  it says that the prison director himself and his wife have also started attending the zoom meetings and quotes him as saying.

Also, it’s remarkable how the meetings contribute to creating a peaceful environment among them. Undoubtedly, Bible education helps us to fulfill our objective of transforming prisoners into useful members of society.”

  Unless he's already a JW, using such expressions as "Bible education" seems a little weird. I dunno, maybe I'm a little suspicious but JWs have been known to pad out their experiences to say the least.

  many,many years ago i went into a florist shop and ordered a wreath and a sympathy card to be delivered to my home .the sales lady looked at me and saw that i wasn`t very old and offered her condolences to me .. i apologised to her and said oh no ,nobody`s died ,it`s just that my wife has been going off lately about her turning fourty ,so i thought i would commiserate with her by doing this.. on the other hand when i turned fourty i went out and bought myself a pair of ice skates ..

  Bottom line: there is no way this ends well. If you ever did bring up Elders letters, it would only be distracted by the fact that you aren't supposed to see them, plus that you only could've seen them from 'apostate' sources and therefore they're probably edited to make the org look bad. If you have to meet with them, and if you have to bring something up, I think Magnum gave the best advice.
